Solo mining, does it look right?
-
I setup solo mining and everything looks right but the difficulty is showing me 2.68M? I thought it was only in the 40K area? and Best Shares is always at 0, any help or advice would be appreciated
Thanks

No, the network is ~2GH/s. So OP’s .5MH/s is rather low. Joining a pool is the way to go at this point in time.

I think he started cgminer wrong I would say he just double clicked icon for cgminer instead of creating a blank text file with the following text in it. then rename it to xxxx.bat and run the program from it
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:9332 -u workername -p password

Hm… all blocks that i have found in solo are rejected :(

Network is at 654,003 KHash/s (over last 447 blocks). So about 654 Mh/s. Largest pool I know of is at 45 Mh/s.
Solo mining is a loosing game. In the very start of a currency, that might work, but unless you have some serious power, you are getting a lot more coins by pool mining. Pool mining also is psychologically better, as you get paid more often and not get frustrated with never finding a block.

well… retarget my rig to ftc.d2.cc ;)

Like I said before…Mine however the Hell you want to! :P Don’t let anyone tell you different. There are plenty of blocks to mine, if you choose to solo mine and then decide it’s not satisfying you, switch to pool mining…it’s not like the friggin things are going to all be mined tomorrow and you will have missed the boat. Try everything and decide for yourself!
