\[Solved\] How do you monitor/adjust more than one rig Win7 \* Teamviewer

Hi All

I have partially set-up one rig and have it hashing away and stable and want to run a second rig.

Both will have windows 7 64 bit.

I have seen Tight VNC which allows you to control another pc, is this what i need ??

I have only seen pics/videos with peoples main monitor (monitors) showing 2, 3, 4 or 5 instances of CGminer running ??

Anyone point me in the right direction as i have been searching and getting nowhere.

I guess Teamviewer and TightVNC are good was to remote control your rigs.

Maybe you’re interested in this Feathercoin Mining Monitor I wrote to check my miners and aggregate some data from the pools connected to and the FTC stats.

It at least provides you a fast overview without logging to each PC everytime.

CGMiner itself also provides a PHP monitoring (look for the miner.php in the root directory of your cgminer installation and check the readme from cgminer for explanations how to install it) interface. This way you can access your miners via http and you can even configure it to control parts of it.

I would personally recommend installing logmein on all of your rigs (if they are all Win based - not supported on Linux), this then allows you to remote control them from any PC with a web browser.

Logmein free allows you to have up to 10 PCs installed for remote control. The benefit of using logmein is that you have pretty much full access to the desktop as if you were sat in front of it so you can change miner configs with ease and not just monitor the mining.

Remote control via logmein also strangely seems to give me a better PC response and interaction than I get when I am trying to do things on my rig which is running at full steam and normally responds really slowly when I am sat in front of it. Its a win/win setup for me and have the added bonus that as long as the logmein service is still running OK and the PC is hooked up to i-net you can even get away without having a monitor attached!

Just my 2pence on the subject hope it is useful, obviously miner monitor progs are also useful but dont have the flexibility of logmein and teamviewer has a 5 mins connection limit and VNC runs like a bag of nails IMO. :D

I found that my GPU would stop hashing without a monitor plugged in. It didn’t have to be switched on but unless you have a dummy plug for it, I know of no other way around this.

Maybe it’s just SMOS or maybe it’s cgminer, not sure. But yeah… I gotta have a monitor hooked in or run a dummy plug.

Dummy plugs are pretty easy to make, aren’t they? A DVI converter and a resistor is all it takes I believe.

I have allll the resistors and converters at work I need. Looks like they just called me in, on my day off no doubt. I don’t actualy need a dummy plug cause I just use my hdmi in on my all in one. With a press of a panel button I flick over to my rig.
