Solo mining cgminer output "Rejected ........." meaning?
-
Hi,
I got lucky for the mining pool that I was in and found them 1600 coins. For the length of time that I was in the pool and my hashrate I should only have made about 300 coins or so. 300 is about the amount that the pool paid out to me too. I know its fair and thats the way it works.
However, it did inspire me to perhaps try solo mining for a bit even though I know full well that there is absolutely no reason why my luck would continue.
I set up the RPC config and ran feathercoin-qt with the -server option, connected cgminer to it, etc, and it was crunching away to itself for a good while. Every now and again I see this in the output…

Just wondering if anyone could clear up what it meant? I know why shares get rejected in a pool (the block was already found and the pool had moved on, I think), but why would something get rejected in solo mining? Does it mean that it actually found a block and the block got rejected, or something else?

for the same reasons as in pool.
I would recommend you set up LP towards one of the big pools.
(after the initial -o pool you add --failover-only -o pooltogetLPfrom -u -p)
That way your miner will get notifications much faster and can drop what he is working on and move on.Will hopefully reduce the rejected rate and not let your miners chew on a block that has allready been solved ;)
