Cell phone stall notice
-
I’m not sure how hard it is to add an e-mail stall notice in the pools in your account info. I know some have it some don’t. But if they would all have this feature an email can be sent from the pool to your phone as a text. Most major carriers have the ability to sent a text to someone from your computer using your e-mail.
It works like this, say my phone number is (555)999-7777. For a text to an AT&T cell phone you would type this into your email address line 555999777@txt.att.net
To send a text message via email, just substitute a 10-digit cell number for ‘number’ for each carrier below:
â-- AT&T: number@txt.att.net
â-- Qwest: number@qwestmp.com
â-- T-Mobile: number@tmomail.net
â-- Verizon: number@vtext.com
â-- Sprint: number@messaging.sprintpcs.com or number@pm.sprint.com
â-- Virgin Mobile: number@vmobl.com
â-- Nextel: number@messaging.nextel.com
â-- Alltel: number@message.alltel.com
â-- Metro PCS: number@mymetropcs.com
â-- Powertel: number@ptel.com
â-- Boost Mobile: number@myboostmobile.com
â-- Suncom: number@tms.suncom.com
â-- Tracfone: number@mmst5.tracfone.com
â-- U.S. Cellular: number@email.uscc.netIf each pool would implement this it would be an easy way to be notified you have a stalled or dead worker. 8)
Just a little FYI that was on my brain.

this is an interesting idea, however the pools I have used I have noticed that the “worker” stats aren’t a good representation of what is going on with your worker. For instance the current pool I’m using has indicated that one of my workers has disconnected for a short period when it hasn’t and is still mining away (it’s right in front of me). Also the hash rates are never too accurate either. A better implementation would be to have a small program on your mining rig to send signals to your phone when something goes wrong.

Nothing beats TeamViewer on your Android phone. Well, I shouldn’t say “nothing”. Though it is handy to be able to RDC in from anywhere to check on things. Having multiple rigs makes it a pain in the butt sometimes to do however. Anyway, OP had a good idea. I just have stall notifies sent to a gmail account and get the notification on my phone nayway. Loving the Nexus 4!

IMHO this is something better implemented on the miner side. Slow miners+bad luck can trigger hundreds of emails, or you just not mining anymore for a bit.
If you trigger this on a pool_down message from your miner(s), it should be much more accurate.
