3000+ KH/s ASIC Scrypt/SHA miner IT'S HERE! have you heard / seen / tried it?

1st of all: I’m not marketing or advertising or anything…I just found out about this product which seems amazing and wonder what the community knows about it:

the company is based in London UK, product is chinese, they send it to you directly from HK therefore you’ll need to pay VAT and import tax (but if I’m right it’s 0% for imports from HK, 5% from China), price is 1466£, 91 for delivery to London, if you add 20% VAT goes up to 1759£.
10 little USB modules, each module has 5 chips, each chip GC3355 produces 70 KH/s.
so: 70 x 5 x 10 = 3500 KH/s. for about 250W.
these are all info extracted from the website.
I e-mailed the company asking how it really works: what PC specs you need and OS, I assume that really anything will do since these chips will do all the work really.

It’s nice that asics are coming, but in my humble opinion it’s a wee bit pricey if you look at hash/$ :P

From the view, it looks like the ones Lizhi was building.
They also get ~ 70Khash per unit with scrypt. Lizhi was talking about 60$ per unit.
That would make ~ 600$ per 700KHash.
Too bad, that they don’t sell single modules…

a little more info I received from Ashra on my query, I was asking (ignorant me I guess…) how this would have worked:
[i]The controller has CPUminer and CGminer built and can be operated on Windows, Linux and OSX.
You just need to connect to the controller to configure the set up with your pool etc, it is a standalone unit after that.
One controller can take up to 20x USB modules[/i]

I would like to know the landed cost.
Import/VAT/Taxes and Shipping all add up. Is this worth it?

me and my mate did a little bit of research and the company HASHRA is registered in London as from very late December 2013, we contacted them and this is what Simon (from HASHRA) replied:
[i]Hi, right now the units you see in the pictures and video are with our supplier in China. We do not have them in London I’m afraid. We will be heading ourselves to Hong Kong in a few days and we will get more footage and pictures then. Thanks[/i]
[i]At the moment we are only offer shipping direct from our base in Hong Kong. We are a very new company and our plan is to open an office here in London that will allow collection and cover VAT etc but till then we can only offer direct shipping. which means: they onyl set up the website and they re-sell whatever Gridseed gives them.
tax,vat,transportation. the increase in price is easy to calculate,but the time it will get stuck at the border isn’t…that worries me.
Also: will these guys be capable of offering proper support? Because if I need to go back to Gridseed then I may just as well buy directly from them (if that is at all possible). -

The $/khash is too high for this, and resale value is very low once it’s outdated… its worth it only if you got expensive electricity. 2nd gen will probably be much better, if the algos might be changed to fight that…
