100 bitcoin ATMs are about to hit the streets of Australia, according to a local radio report. This weekend, state broadcaster ABC ran a short report on bitcoin during its current affairs program The World Today. It included the news that a company called Australian Bitcoin ATMs would be distributing ATM machines all over the country.
I just sent them an email!
I would like to thank whoever is responsible for achieving this!
I have 3 questions.
Which locations (city-wise) do think the ATM’s will be placed?
Is there any chance that we will be able to buy any of the alt-coins through the service?
I’m most interested in buying and selling Feathercoin. http://forum.feathercoin.com/
There are more and more Aussie’s coming onto the Feathercoin forum ever week.
We have a tight knit community and you will be assured to have Feathercoiners very interested in using your service.BTC Markets will be listing the ftc/aud pair in the coming months. https://btcmarkets.net/home
Hi Calem,
Thanks very much for your email. We appreciate feedback like this.We are working hard to make a more modular site so the addition of other crypto currencies is a much easier process. Once this is complete we will almost definitely be looking to introduce feathercoin first.
A imagine this will happen in the next few months.
Sincerely,Support Team

Thank you for your time and look forward to your response!

They responded all ready!
Hello Calem,
We will install our first machines in Melbourne and Sydney, other major population hubs will follow.
While Altcoins are supported by our machines, for customer simplicity we will only be transacting in Bitcoin to start, we hope to embrace other currencies down the track as general cryptocurrency adoption and understanding increases.
We are open to talks with different exchanges, although liquidity and fees will dictate these decisions.
Kind Regards,
Australian Bitcoin ATMs Team
So only time will tell. Fingers crossed.
