Sgminer... in case you didn't know.

https://github.com/veox/sgminer
It’s a GPU-only scrypt-coin miner, with active development, based on cgminer 3.7.2. Nuff said :)
-
For those of you running Arch linux, I’ve been maintaining the PKGBUILD for this miner. You can get your own build over at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sgminer-git/
-
How does this compare to cgminer (i.e. how is it better)?
-
Well, of top importance is the fact that it’s being actively developed for scrypt mining and it’s specific to GPU miners. Not so for cgminer.
It’s smaller… which I like because I don’t like having software packages bloated full of stuff I don’t need. One of the things being worked on is fine-tuning your intensity setting.
There are a few opencl kernel options for you to use. -
Is that kernel comment similar to how I used to flash different kernels for my mobile phone?
Some kernels were good for battery life where others focused purely on performance?

[/quote]They are all openCL kernels, with a few tweaks that may or may not give you a little extra, depending on your specific hardware. It’s one of those, ‘If you don’t know that you need one, stick to the default’ things. But they are there if you like to play.
