[/quote]The absolute kings of quiet are the Asus 270x, I would recommend them for all indoor rigs… I also experienced the same thing with the 290’s, so I did a deal with the IT Manager at work and snuck them into the server room, just to get them as far away from my ears as possible lol…

OK, I’ve got 4 Asus 270x crammed into a milk crate, like so:

One is on the Mobo as I couldn’t get 4 working with risers…
Here are the stats:

Rock solid, no crashes ever. I can push those cards harder however as I’m about to take my rigs off location I want stability over performance. I have another rig with 2 x Sapphire Vortex 270x and 2 x Sapphire Toxic 270x and they are noisy like my 280’s, so make sure it’s the Asus ones.
I asked my girlfriend what the crate sounds like and she said “The quiet whisper of a modern refridgerator” so there’s your proof…
I’m about to sit down and space that 270x crate out like this for much better temps:

Fantastic! Respect to the hanging rig!
-
Yeah sorry for hijacking the thread mate…
-
You claimed back a cupboard?? That’s amazing I bow to your superior MAN skills.
That pretty much sums it up :)
nice job with the hanging rig!

Love the hanging rig option, it’s kind of close to the breaker/fuse box, is there some free electricity going on there? ;) :D
