Global One Year Birthday Meetup

So, I thought this idea was so complex and potentially extremely evolved, it would need it’s own sister thread.

Or the idea will die very quickly, ill unpin it and we can all forget it ever happened :D

Righto, I want to be able to take part. Naturally, large stretches of ocean would make this extremely costly for me. I’m also working on the Friday and Saturday. But not your Friday and Saturday… Timezones have a tendency to make this happen. I’ve only made it to one online meetup at the Oxford.

So I pitch the idea that we make it over potentially a 4 day period. Make it run for 96 hours. That way, there’s some nice timezone overlap. I don’t think it would be a wise idea to party/pub crawl for the who period of time but the idea is that every one can run there own feathercoin Birthday event.

Whether it be just yourself logging into the stream with a nice warm or hot breakfast or you and a bunch of mates go out and hold your own get together at a some sort of public venue… like a pub… or restaurant? Hire a hall if you think you can get enough attendee’s.

I would love to see something huge. Is there a way we could also have a second feed that will x amount of individuals to log in with their own webcams / smartphone cams. I know youtube is only one way, it would be kewl if people could also join the live stream. Like when madbitcoins interviews people etc. Not everyone will want to get skype but that could also be run simultaneous with the other two streams.

Regardless of the amount of streams though, if someone wanted to setup promote the finer details this could be really big. We could a lot of attention.

Now here’s the crazy idea.

How hard is it to get Guinness Records to pay attention…

To the best of my knowladge they haven’t pay much attention to crypto currency records. I know we can’t break any records for the longest or largest global online continuous live stream. But maybe to get some attention to this, wouldn’t it be truly epic if we could establish the record for the longest online global meetup for crypto-currencies… whilst also doing a pub crawl :D Kidding.

Ok, so we don’t have to get Guinness involved, we can record the record our own way. Maybe it can go in own wiki one day :D Hang on… why haven’t we done our own wiki… hrm… saving this one…

Anyways.

Scaling it back a bit. It would be nice to have run for a few days. if everyone knows it, then we can all have a place and time, once every year, to really get in touch with the greater community.

I’m sure madbitcoins could be willing to publicise the event. Heck, we could have a schedule with live guests and Madbitcoin and also BitsBeTrippin’ could also rock up. Naturally we would have the great and all mighty chrisj there too, but my point is, this could be made truly epic.

What better way to celebrate a crypto could one come up with? A global online celebration where the entire feathercoin community and also the greater crypto community as a potential whole?

Not everyone supports just one coin, so this extends beyond just those on the forum.

Now sorry to suggest and bail, but I have a few other projects I’m working on at the moment so it would be amazing if a group want to make this a full or even just partial idea, a reality.

With that said, if this at least can just run over 4 day period, I’ll be able to join in.
