I have also downloaded 0.8.6 and I am using the feathercoin-qt and running feathercoind in no wallet mode on my p2pool node at sktpools.com:19327.

Do we have a time frame of how long the old client will work?
Don’t fancy the hell that was compiling the Linux client again :(
If you go to the download section on feathercoin.com you will find links to download precompiled installation packages for several linux distributions, so hopefully you don’t need to compile yourself, unless you don’t trust the binaries ;)

First, if you are on 0.8.5 you do not need to upgrade unless a fixed bug affects you or you want the new features and second, compiling on Linux is about as much fun as you can have. If you compiled it before you environment should be setup unless you had to hack the pro and make files to bits for the magic to happen.
