[Dev] NeoScrypt GPU Miner - Public Beta Test

ufo thread has the new kernel…
both, for sg & cg miner

How to get Wolf0’s latest neoscrypt kernel working on AMD Catalyst 14.9.x
You do not need to uninstall AMD Catalyst 14.9.x drivers, and only use AMD Catalyst 14.6 RC2 drivers with this method.
Download the latest sgminer-5.1.0-dev from https://www.nicehash.com/software/#sgminer
Open and edit neoscrypt.cl in the folder you extracted sgminer to, and replace all text with the new Wolf0 neoscrypt kernel. Here’s the link to the newest kernel:
Download AMD Catalyst 14.6 RC2 OpenCL DLLs from here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B06N0FYvyFgDMDF6eGVDUDZzWXc/view?usp=sharing
You will notice I have included 13.9, 14.4, 14.6 RC2, and 14.7 RC1 AMD OCL DLLs. We will be using contents of the 14.6 RC2 AMD OCL folder.
Copy all of the DLL files from the 14.6 RC2 AMD OCL folder into your sgminer folder.
Start the miner with settings w64 g1 I15, or whatever custom settings you prefer.
There should not be anymore HW errors due to 14.9.x drivers.
Optional: You may delete the 14.6 RC2 AMD OCL files from the sgminer folder; however, if you delete the bin files generated by sgminer, the next time you run sgminer you will get HW errors.
I have included a sgminer-5.1.0-dev 7z file with all of the changes listed above here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B06N0FYvyFgDeHBnTVEtR3BVN2c/view?usp=sharing
Edit: Updated to AMD Catalyst 14.6 RC2 AMD OCL DLLs due to massive speed improvements vs. AMD Catalyst 14.4 AMD OCL DLLs.
If this helps you, please consider hitting the up arrow on the right side of the post. Thanks :)

was there any change on hash speed?
(im on 14.7rc)
-
So far I’m getting the best results with the 14.6 drivers and the R9 290. When I used 14.4 for some reason the hash rates were far better than 14.9, but nowhere near as good as 14.6. I’m compiling a list of all of the settings I’ve tried with corresponding hash rates that I’ll post when I’m done. Currently the best I’ve seen is 300Kh/s using -I 13 and -w 64 (as mentioned earlier).
-
The fix for the 14.9 is working. Not getting hw anymore. Temps are ridiculous

No. Hash rates are the same whether you are on 14.4 or 14.9, which is to say the hash rates are still much higher than the previous kernel.

I’ll try 14.6 drivers out myself and let you know. If there’s any improvement I will update the AMD OCL DLL and sgminer archives I posted.

14.4-14.7 has way better hash than this fix!!!
(-10-15%)just tested
(driver version 14.200.1004 fastest so far)

Here are the results of my various settings… Hopefully the table renders properly. These GPU’s are running at stock clocks. As far as power consumption, only had a 100w increase for almost double the hash rate in a 4x GPU rig.
edit: table didn’t render… Best settings were -i 13 -w 64, and -i 12 -w 64 which were both pegged at 300Kh/s

I’ll try 14.2 as well. I just tried 14.6 AMD OCL DLLs and they are significantly faster than 14.4 on my 290x.

14.200.1004 is 14.7rc3 or some older

Thank you for the clarification.

I will put together new archives with faster AMD OCL DLLs for the 14.9.x fix. Hang tight.
-
OK, I uploaded archives containing faster AMD OCL DLLs.
Refer to my prior post for new links and instructions.

seems like day work is done, time to sleep
-
Sleep is for the weak! :P
So I tried using 14.7 RC1 AMD OCL DLLs, and they were plenty fast, but still not quite as fast (on my 290x) as 14.6 RC2 AMD OCL DLLs.

on my set up 14.7rc3 is best, (arent they same driver as 14.6rc2?) 14.6rc2 only 1-2% slower, else drivers are way slower
and the bonus!! old nvidia +100%

Just for grins, I’m running the 14.4 OCL’s on catalyst 13.25 (tried updating the drivers twice from 13.25 to 14.6, and they remained 13.25)
Got my 290’s up to 212k, and the 290x’s at 199k.
-
14.6 RC2 driver dlls gave me some +20 khs increase over the 14.6 ! Lets see which drivers give the most

I am running AMD Catalyst 14.9.2 Beta with the 14.6 RC2 OCLs and my 290x is getting 320 Kh/s. You might want to upgrade drivers to get that extra 100 Kh/s out of your 290x.
Also,
AMD HD7950 (Hynix) 274 Kh/s
AMD HD7870 (Elpida) 116 Kh/s
AMD HD7850 (unknown) 120 Kh/s
