[Dev] NeoScrypt GPU Miner - Public Beta Test
-
seems like day work is done, time to sleep
-
Sleep is for the weak! :P
So I tried using 14.7 RC1 AMD OCL DLLs, and they were plenty fast, but still not quite as fast (on my 290x) as 14.6 RC2 AMD OCL DLLs.

on my set up 14.7rc3 is best, (arent they same driver as 14.6rc2?) 14.6rc2 only 1-2% slower, else drivers are way slower
and the bonus!! old nvidia +100%
-
Just for grins, I’m running the 14.4 OCL’s on catalyst 13.25 (tried updating the drivers twice from 13.25 to 14.6, and they remained 13.25)
Got my 290’s up to 212k, and the 290x’s at 199k.
-
14.6 RC2 driver dlls gave me some +20 khs increase over the 14.6 ! Lets see which drivers give the most

I am running AMD Catalyst 14.9.2 Beta with the 14.6 RC2 OCLs and my 290x is getting 320 Kh/s. You might want to upgrade drivers to get that extra 100 Kh/s out of your 290x.
Also,
AMD HD7950 (Hynix) 274 Kh/s
AMD HD7870 (Elpida) 116 Kh/s
AMD HD7850 (unknown) 120 Kh/s
-
14.7rc3
280x 290khs hynix,
280x 265khs elpida
-
Workisze must be 64, or a multiple of.
-
64 seems best with i 13
-
If there is any speed difference between 14.7 RC3 and 14.6 RC2 while running 14.9.x it’s so minute that I can’t even tell.

Managed to get ~240k on the 290’s and 220k on the 290x, upping to the 14.9 drivers now and see how that goes.

I want to thank both Wolf and insanid for all of the help they have given. I think it is great that Wolf is sharing his work with everyone, given that mining can be a very competitive endeavor and that insanid has been so helpful getting everyone up and running. I learned a few new tricks today and have gained much more appreciation towards what goes into optimizing mining.
Thanks again

You’re welcome :) I feel that with Neoscrypt mining has been given back to the hands of enthusiasts, and seeing how the average person can now mine again, we all should help each other out.

Well with the 14.9 installed and the 14.4 pack from here, trying intensities from 11 to 16 and all sorts of combinations, I managed to come up with 255k on the 290’s with 3 different combinations of settings and 245k on the 290x’s with one, 240 with another, and 235 with the 3rd of the settings that did 255k on the 290’s…
290’s = hynix
290x’s = elpida
Back at it tomorrow… >:D
BTW wolf0 said work should be a multiple of 64, I’ve found multiples of 32 give me the best results. (IE: 96 beats 64 in many cases)

Epic… This is working out well!
-
I found a -w 112 also works well for me, picked up 4-5 kh per card

HD6970: 19.5KH/s to 50.5KH/s and no HW errors!
Thanks to a much better global memory management with burst writes. Also tried a trick with copying a workgroup buffer to local memory and writing back asynchronously to global memory through async_work_group_copy(), but it didn’t work out (36KH/s and 15% of HW errors). A 2.5x speed increase is something to celebrate anyway. Anyone cares to donate towards drinks, whores and blackjack? ;)

How does 117kh/s sound for R9 270 non x cards? 1100/1450? -I 13 -w 64?
Not sure what I’m doing wrong but couldn’t get p2pool or localhost to work with sgminer 5.1, how to http://us.mine-ftc.co.uk:19327 command line?
stratum+tcp://stratum.wemineftc.com wasn’t a problem to get working.

Excellent news for people with the older cards!!
CHEERS!!

Nice will try it very soon and report back, Thank you!
Edit: What miner versions have been tested? Be nice to know what all this works with and drivers.
