        i can push a crappy visiontek 7950 to 620Kh or so, but it becomes unstable. will do 550Kh all week long with no issues though

          I can push it to 700. Though really stable is usually around 670+.

            700? That sounds way too high. What settings are you using?

            I have a Sapphire 3GB 7950 & after weeks of tweaking I finally found a 650 Kh/s stable setup.

            color 40 (for the DOOM MS-DOS look)
            cgminer.exe -o --scrypt --auto-fan --temp-target 72 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1600 --thread-concurrency 21712 -w 256 -I 20 --lookup-gap 2 -g 1 --gpu-powertune 20

            Try lower intensity at first and then bump it up to 20
