The development team is planning to remove the mining part from the feathercoin client code.
The reason is, that the mining part generates false true events for virus checking programs, causing download problems of compiled binaries, while hardly ever used for mining, as external mining programs are more efficient.

Are there any reasons to keep the mining as part of the wallet?

          Bringing this topic up again.

          So the question is:

Is anybody still using the mining functionality of feathercoind or feathercoin-qt?

I’m with you on this one, it’s a pain in the backside having to keep filing in the google reports so we don’t get blacklisted in search results.

I thought it had already been removed from the Bitcoin / Litecoin client? version 0.8
