Actually, because I want to use water cooling, the big question is, is it a reference board model. Because for all the modified boards, the water cooling blocks won’t fit.

I’m sorry if it seems like I don’t want to do the research. I’m actually researching everything mining related like crazy and just wanted to ask if anyone knew the answer to this. This is where miners hang out, so someone might have “gone down the same alley” as I am now.

However, I did find out from XFX’s website now, that the design of the card has changed, so that means that now there are non-reference boards out there. So that kinda answers the question… I have to get an old card, if I want to make sure it is a reference model.

That was my problem too, one card on the riser sort the issue of overheating.
It maybe that I found solution for the conundrum with
Core 3, and those hashing rates all over the place :

possible that I need to get older drivers most definitely need more RAM - it is recommended at least
same amount as on GPU’s and I have 12Gb vs 4Gb on motherboard…

To see the numbers,

Get a console running either on the BAMT box or via SSH client its up to you.

Once logged in type the following

[code]screen -ls[/code]

after this you will get something like the below returned

5261.cgminer (12/11/2013 06:28:53 PM) (Detached)
1 Socket in /var/run/screen/S-root.[/code]

to see whats going on type

[code]screen -r 5261.cgminer[/code]

The 4 number before the . changes every time cgminer starts, so you need to re-run the -ls command to find the answer if you re-start cgminer.

and to drop out of screen,

[code]CTRL+a, d[/code]

As far as brand goes, the general consensus around here is to get a [b]Seagate[/b]. My bottom line though, get a reputable brand with great reviews and make sure its 80 plus certified. Keep in mind when you’re shopping future upgrades to your rig as well. If you are thinking of getting that 600 watt, you might be able to find something a little beefier for very close to the same price. GPUs use quite a bit of power. Whatever you do don’t skimp on the power supply. It’s not worth it to save some $ and in the process kill your system/burn down your house.

Nothing is FPGA/ASIC proof. If you can design a program to do it, you can make a chip to execute that program. Now if that’s cost effective is another story entirely.

lol. that motherboard shows up again!

Had to around with screen, keyboard and mouse… Set it up manually, so now it’s lower temperature and not that loud. Have to find solution how to save all 3 (in next few day’s it will be 5) GPU’S custom settings upon restart. Thanks for advice of sticking with the Trixx

So you plan on using 3x R9 280X on a 1000watt akasa PSU?

I have 3x R9 280x Vapor-X and an Akasa 1000w too. But I havent used them together yet, not sure if enough Wattage!

Im currently stuck between getting a fourth R9 and a second 1000w to build 2 rigs in 2 computer cases that both got 2x R9

Or just building a rig using 3x on a 1000w, because this summer they wont be able to run in a case anymore, way too hot
