generally with computer components the cooler they run the longer they last. heat is the enemy to electronics. also a good quality psu will help a component last longer. I work in IT and very rarely see broken components except for maybe end user abuse but then again mining does run a gpu to the max 24/7. if you under clock and under volt a gpu it will more than likely increase the life of it.

CPU mining on feather really isnt worth it since GPU mining took over. If you can find a very low difficulty coin… say < 5 then you can try that one out. I dont know if the payoff is worth it still in the short term.

No, the hash rate on a pool is usually an average depending on the pool software being used and the timespan you are looking at.

I have seen a Thread already explaining pool statistics, somewher, if you can find it you would help others with the same problem. Helping us organise the forum and creating FAQs would be a great help and is something any new user to do.

Mining advise is a service provided by volunteers.
Mining is very technical and may not suit all personality types.
Miners need to check if their question has not been answered already.
Mining questions should be posted on the “Mining forum”, so as not to confuse normal wallet users with a real support issue.

Cheers for your input! Mine have the sapphire trixx (looking at the box), but I’m running BAMT so not sure it’s much help. I tried changing the voltage settings in cgminer to no effect. I think my next option is trying custom firmware (not over the moon about that), as the last post in this thread say: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=3358.15

as far as drivers. the only problem would be if you mixed a legacy driver card with a newer card. i believe older legacy drivers don’t have the newer drivers in them. but you could probably manually install them. heck i was hashing on a pair of 7870s with the windows drivers and getting the same hash rate as the amd drivers form ther site lol
