When this happens, the stats displayed by cgminer are shit (and the work is interrupted). The value kH/s is frozen (you have to look at the average 5s which is 0 kH/s). In my case, press G then press R => crash of cgminer (when there is a driver crash, in normal situation, it works perfectly).

If I relaunch cgminer without doing my manipulation => depending on how windows restarts the driver, either shitty hasrate or ok.

If I do my manipulation before restarting cgminer => hashrate ok.

The first GPU is 015.041 and second 015.039. Both undervolted to 1.131v. Could probably do a bit better on the 015.041 card since it starts at 1.2v and the other starts at 1.25v (i think) but I keep it simple by using the same settings on both cards.

They are now both running at 68 degrees (celsius) in an open rig with lots of space in between the cards. No external fan. I will put in a third card in between them when I get my ordered risers and then I may start using an external fan.

Are you talking about Paypal or BTCM?

If you’re talking about it Paypal, yeah, be very skeptical. In regards to BTCM, I’m yet to have a single issue that wasn’t worked out. (Non trade related)

Just to give an update on this, I managed to get it working. I took everything apart and “bread boarded” the system adding one component at a time, it all worked in the end with all fans spinning and the system POST’ing (except for one GPU, which Ill ask about in a different post as to keep everything separate).

So all that’s left now is to install the software and kick it off. Ill put a pic of it in the rig picture forum.

In windows, if you have multiple cards, when mining crypto it will only utilize your main card (the bootup screen one that had an monitor plugged in), the rest will just sit idle.
so for example my 280X cards give 760Khash, but only on 1/3 cards, the two other hash at 80khash cause they are “idle”. Dunno of this is for all windows versions/amd driver versions.
But on windows 8/amd 13.12 it happened with my asus cards (sapphire ones worked without though)

An dummy plug is something you make to fool the system into thinking that an GPU has a monitor plugged in.
Basiclly you take an DVI-I (IMPORTANT NOT TO USE DVI-D cause it lack the correct pins!), and put in 68 or 75ohm resistors in between 3 pair of holes. Voila it now looks like a monitor is plugged in for the GPU

for the same reasons as in pool.
I would recommend you set up LP towards one of the big pools.
(after the initial -o pool you add --failover-only -o pooltogetLPfrom -u -p)
That way your miner will get notifications much faster and can drop what he is working on and move on.

Will hopefully reduce the rejected rate and not let your miners chew on a block that has allready been solved ;)

funny… this happened to me this morning. apparently the molex on the powered riser popped out somehow. Sparks were flying. Thankfully the mobo and other graphics are unharmed.

Thanks, that’s good too know. i don’t think i will encounter any problems if I’m using a normal riser, but with powered risers I’m afraid i won’t get enough power. Or if i have understood it correctly, forcing too many amps on the cables.

I’m having a similar issue.

I have been running 2 x 7950’s at 650Kh/s for weeks, then I add a 280x into the mix, and my original two drop down to 600kh/s. Im in BAMT. Still trying to work it out.
