I have mine running in my upstairs office which has no hvac ductwork so it tends to be cooler anyway. (North Central US)
Today I finally got around to setting up some flexible 4" PVC drain pipe running along the wall behind my desk so that it is closed under the inside window with an old computer case 4" fan drawing cold air (5F-20F) into the pipe. I have styrofoam taped up tight to the window to close the gap but let a couple inches open on the opposite end so warm air can be drawn in to mix with cold air. The at the output end of pipe I have another small 4" desk fan drawing the cool air out and directly onto my two cards.
This is a temporary solution to keep temps lower until my riser cable arrives. I am now getting a minimum of 1390KH/s with many rises of 1440-1480KH/s for the two cards combined.

I’m using BAMT Smos.

BAMT v5.5 and v1.2 would not work or the gpu would error and leave me with a great big red background saying it’s errored.

Oh, ok. I figured “what the hell, they’re not doing anything else?” ;-) But then again, I’ve only been at this for a week on my PC.

I’m hearing that (depending where you are at the world) the fact that these come by boat, they are being sold in transit, and by the time they arrive are going to the highest bidder. The current lowering is most likely the whales becoming satisfied with what they’ve got so far.

My 2x 7950 and 1 x R280 survived the night on my 750W (not optimal settings) Will tune some more when I get the chance.

Yeah I think keeping the mem clock down a lit, and lowering the voltage will reduce the power consumption. I’m running BAMT off a USB stick, so no wasted juice there.

Unfortunately to run the trixx software to change my voltage is windows only. I found linux [url=http://sourceforge.net/projects/amdovdrvctrl/]http://sourceforge.net/projects/amdovdrvctrl/[/url] which might work.

Have you set up a worker?

lets say you log in as bob. and you set your worker name as frank. and your password is , well lets just say password for this example, your line should look like this…

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool.d2.cc:3333 -u [b][u]bob.frank[/u][/b] -p [b]password[/b] -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8128

That might be your problem… That “.” is pretty important…

Cards are running very hot at the 660 kh/s that I should be getting so until I get risers I lowered the intensity a bit so I am getting 600 kh/s but other than that I am good! Probably wouldn’t even be able to get that much if I wasn’t using windforce.

I use multiple setups for the R9 290 cards but the only difference in the intensity and hash rate. Here is my data.

–scrypt -o [pool url] -u [worker] -p [pass] --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 -w 512 -v 1 -g 1 -l 1 --thread-concurrency 24550

Then:

-I 12 =250 kh/s I use this when I am running 3d using games with cgminer in the background
-I 14 =600 kh/s I use this as my normal whenever the computer is actually in use. Like right now.
-I 20 =850 kh/s This is for when the computer is idle and doing nothing but mining.

Note that I use the default memory and gpu speeds, but using the newest AMD driver I set the power to 20 and the max fan speed to 80%.
