I’m really happy with my Gigabyte HD6950. I purchased it second hand from ebay for $100 AUD and hasn’t missed a beat. I currently have engine set to 955 and memory set to 1250 and its cranking out 470kh/s. Its also running surprisingly cool with temps maxing at about 73c in open air with a 25c ambient. This highest Ive had it is 475kh/s but drivers eventually crash.

This is the only summer i’ve mined in with 20 OC’d 7970’s stacked on top of each other. ;)

The temp readings are pulled from cgminer so not sure how accurate that is. Attached is a pic of the typical temps which do rise by about 5c throughout the day.

IMHO it was just a shoddy card. We can see what happens to the other 19 to gauge reliability… Time will tell.

Thanks Nutnut, that is quite helpful as you know I run a similar setup.

Have the same issue on my windows rig.
If i do something else, or i quit/restart cgminer to many times i get this hickup and need to reboot computer or force amd drivers to restart.

Ive just accepted it=)

The mobo is one i got as a bonus during my previouse used gpu purchases.
It has had some strange hickups earlier, will try with windows now just for fun.

theres a big chanse i just order myself another mobo, getting 400hash extra for 100$ is a steal=)

Oh, it is funny. Just occasionally tragic. Got the poop scared out of me the other day when my 360 wouldn’t boot. Took it to that store and plugged it in and it booted right up, but it was just seized at my house and none of the outlets would work for it. Took it back afterwards and it was fine. Just a bunch of a ridiculous voodoo.

I just wish they didn’t kill the power. Is there anything I need to keep in mind for:

1. Only mining 8 or so hours a day.
2. Abrupt power outages. I have a surge protector that it’s plugged into and the unit reboots and gets right back to work when power is restored, but is there something else I should be providing for?

Thanks, I will try that key sequence later. I have managed to get a consistent 1.55M/h, one card is running at about 84C and the other 76C. I will tweek the fan speeds so that they are not 100%. Over night I had no hardware errors around 4000 accepts and 2 rejects. That sounds pretty good to me.

Thanks for the replies. For now, using GuiMiner [b]with[/b] cgminer. I may look into the command line side of things if I have time this weekend. But things are running smoothly for the time being:

Trixx crashes system but does allow fan control however it don’t seem to be working tho and am unsure about tep readings on it lol says my cards at 90c yet cgminer says 82c

This is driving me bonkers lol

yes, scrypt is included in the prebuilt version.
Try to run cgminer like this:
cgminer --scrypt --auto-gpu --auto-fan -o poolyouareusing -u username -p password

Is it still bad?
