Pools reflect your hash rate as a function of shares successfully submitted, NOT by number of hashes per second that you’re going through. As a result, it could take some time before the pool agrees with cgminer. Are you getting a high number of rejects? That would also cause the hash rate seen by the pool to be off. What pool are you referring to, and are you using stratum?

The point is not that Nvidia or AMD is better at mining it’s the point that I had achieved 200kH/s on an Nvidia which in itself is good. Anyway I stepped the mark up fractionally and got it to 211kH/s with a 1333MHz Core and 7300MHz Memory speed. All sitting at 79 degrees.

I’m doing cpu mining with cpuminer and coinotron. It’s really slow but it’s working.

For a little while, the AC in my apartment was out, thanks to a fuse on the roof. :/ During that time, I set my rig outside, because the first evening the inside went to 125F / 51C, and everyone inside was camping out in our rooms with a balmy 105F / 40C. Mind you, I’m in Las Vegas, one of US’s deserts. The outside temp was measured to be 115F / 45C during this time. My cards would rise very quickly, and I had fans on 100% during mining. Cutoff was at 90C after everything was said and done, as it still gave me a 2500 Kh/s average, as opposed to a 1900 at 85C.

Thankfully, it was only outside for 3 days, and it only halted once because my ISP was and still is having overloaded peer relays. My rig is now sitting nicely at 2900 Kh in a 75-80F / 25-28C room throwing 73-83C. :) I’m going to get a better fan as it is.

I am running minerd in tandem with cgminer (gpu miner). What I did was just copy all the file from minerd in to the feathercoin install directory and I didn’t allow it to overite anything that was already there. If that was correct or not I am unsure but it is working. My core 2 quad q8200 @ 2.66ghz is mining on 6 out of 8 threads (2 reserved for cgminer) @ 15.9 KHash/s and my junk GTX 460 is slugging it out at 81.4 KHash/s (overclocked).

Too bad about the 79XX series, i´m currently waiting delivery of a PowerColor Radeon HD 7970 3GB DDR5 (925Mhz)
But in my rigs i have all modells of 6970 gpus XFX,ATI,Powercolor. Would have been great to load them in to a windows machine flash bios with undervolted settings and then back into my Xubuntu rigs.

According to https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus your card has a cuda compute capability of 1.1, what is rather low. I was trying to mine with a geoforce 8400, which has the same comput capability and got 12kHash as a max.

I more or less started with the automatic settings and tried several different I parameters.
I think, the mining performance is dependent of the cards memory, if that is shared mem, you can’ expect high performance.

decided to invest ~50Eur on Ebay for an ATI 6670 with 1Bbit of mem and went up to 120kHash without immediatelly.

Yes. Actually, the first step that I listed should already do this, unless the user reads xorg configuration data from another place. It renames the xorg.conf so that a new files has to be created. Thanks for emphasizing on this, anyway.

Asetek produces nice closed loop water cooling solutions. They sell many of them to Corsair, Thermaltake and Arctic Cooling. Accelero Hybrid 7970 is a good thing to have.

Have you tried running just one card? Have you tried one card in each 16x pci lane? Have you tried each of your cards individually? Start there.
